Flo Rida R.O.O.T.S. : youtube video

youtube music video by Flo Rida in R.O.O.T.S.
It honestly is sad to see what is popular in today’s music. The fact that so many people are blasting this through their car stereos or playing these songs at night clubs and Disk Jokey sets is just absolutely pitiful. Flo Rida is merely a plastering who can’t come up with his own material. “Right Round” is the epitome of plagiarist in my mind when it comes to music. I don’t mind if an artist decides to remake a song based upon their own interpretation.

That’s why we have remixes. The fact that Flo Rida decided to “sample” other artists songs and rewrite them over his rhymes, beats, and lyrics is just absolutely degrading. My biggest hate on this album goes to “Sugar” because Flo Rida ripped off Eiffel 65 (they are currently called, “Bloom 06″). Not only is the chorus melody that he ripped off from that song annoying, but the rapping in the verses isn’t helping me appreciate this song any more because you can’t understand what he saying.

The only thing that I actually like in this song is Winter’s vocals. Other than that, “Sugar” is just a rip off. If you want to hear some good music, go listen to Bloom 06. Don’t waste your time or your money on this pathetic remake of “Blue (DA Ba Dee)”. If Flo Rida or any other hip-hop/rap artist decides to sample other artist’s material, I weep for the future of music.

I have to say I am very surprised to read the bad reviews of this album. I buy lots of CD, lots and lots of them, and this is one of the very best I have bought lately. This album rocks and moves from the beginning until the end. There is no bad song on here.

2011 Grammy Nominees Customer Reviews:youtube video

youtube music video by 2011 Grammy in Nominees Customer Reviews
With the exception of Love the Way You Lie and Need You Now, these songs are terrible. The Grammy are all about celebrating the great work that artists put into to create great songs. Maroon 5′s worst single, a terrible Katy Perry song, and an Adam Lambert song that came out in like ’09. What happened to the good old days when the BEST songs were nominated for Grammy? No rock bands by the way, no good rappers, besides Eminence. What about Drake, Kid Cuds, and Kenya. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, MOTM2, and Thank Me Later destroyed B.O.B’s album. Speaking of him, Airplanes is a MUCH better song than Nothing’ on You. I too have never heard of some of these songs that are on here, and I don’t think they can top any Fray or One Republic Song. Where are those bands like the Fray, One Republic, and 30 Seconds to Mars. Oh yeah, almost forgot. No country songs on here either, or R&B. No Nelly, Taylor Swift, Darius Ducker, Rascal Flats, Storyteller, or the guys who sang the Little Lion Man. I’d love to know who chose these bands and planned to make the Grammy it’s worst yet. Unreal man.

I get very tired of hearing people complain about the Grammy CD each year. Music is such a huge part of our culture today and is the form of entertainment that we connect to the most, on a very personal level. That being said it is almost impossible to come up with a CD that represents this year in music that is suitable for everyone. Do I like every song t played on the radio, no. But there are some songs on this list that I love. Everyone has such a different taste in music, and even the voting members differ, so you should just accept the album for what it is, and quit hating on it.

LMFAO I’m In Your City Trick:youtube video

youtube music video by LMFAO in I’m In Your City Trick
A friend of mine who is pretty musically inclined absolutely hates this band; being the friend I am I was gonna buy it for him. That was until I saw the price; the fool? “you only buy your city lulz”, doesn’t work as an excuse for me, cause even then it’s a hot mess of failure. I understand the point was to reach as many demographics possible, but how many areas mentioned geographically are located near the ocean? Exactly. This was designed as niche music and to create our generations “kid n play”, or “criss cross”. Someone put this was a farce and intended to be a farce; I doubt. Jon Lannie- brilliant; this thinly veiled hipster rap, trying to be ironic and cool, but fails due to mediocre lyrics, and somewhat decent production.

I understand the concept: get a custom song for your city. Where is the talent in that? Where is the point? I’m not shelling out any money for a damn song that everyone else has, but with one word changed. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose? The song isn’t unique for your city; it is the SAME SONG!! And what do you do if your city isn’t listed? Get the next closest one? If your city was worth singing about, someone would’ve done it already, not rehashed the same crap with one word changed. Spend your money on something that will actually make you feel unique, because if everyone has one of these song, no one is special.

James Blunt Some Kind of Trouble:youtube video

youtube music video by James Blunt in Some Kind of Trouble.
I guess he was already bored with the same old piano ballads. and It’s smart move, because I don’t think I would survive another album like this – and I’m saying it with huge love and appropriation to the previous albums. I was glad to hear “Stay The Night” – sounds like James Blunt, but much more fun. seems like this album is much more optimist, and that’s great. Some of the songs are great (“I’ll Be Your Man”, “Dangerous”) and some of them are forgettable. Some of them are typical James Blunt songs (“Best Laid Plans”) and some of them are not his usual style. Not an incredible masterpiece but It’s not a bad album overall. Fun album to spend some time with.

I got this CD in December from England, and I’m glad I didn’t wait. I have never been more captivated by an album since I first listened to the Revolver album by The Beatles. James Blunt has definitely grown up since his first album and most certainly made up for his second with this third one. Each song has a very different feeling and I really love that. “Superstar” which is track 6, has an awesome guitar solo which I would never expect from him. “I’ll Be Your Man” has like a Kenny Logging type of feel to it, kinda peppy reggae style. If you like variety, buy this album, it really packs a punch.

Drew Seeley The Resolution , Act 2 EP

youtube music video by Drew Seeley in The Resolution , Act 2 EP
I’ve been an avid Drew fan for a little while now. I enjoy all of his music. But I have to say, just as he hit his stride as an actor with Hallmark’s “Freshman Father” (oh yeah people, he’s like, a quadruple threat! He sings, writes, dances, AND acts!), so has he also hit his stride as a musician, as an artist with “The Resolution” . How do you put it in to words?! Every song is better than the one before it (quite an accomplishment really, as they’re all stellar!) and every song holds some new surprise. Whether it’s touching lyrics like in Act 1′s “Why Can’t You Say That You’re Mine”, to the pulse pounding, make you wanna dance, Michael Jackson “Esquire” beat and style of “Let It Go!”, or the R&B, almost jazz type groove of “Beautiful”. And they’re very repeatable as well; each song touches on some emotion and has something in it that every listener can connect to. For those who are like me who also enjoy the technical aspect behind music as well, these two albums are a real treat! Not only does Drew continue (as always) to have a very smooth, supported sound (Yay! Someone who DOESN’T sing through their nose! Yessss!) but here are some pretty creative, complex rhythm patterns to these songs as well. “Let It Go!” and “Beautiful” especially have these gorgeous crisp, clean, syncopated beats that are well written and well performed. Really-it’s just a treat to listen to! I could go on (believe me) but really, I’ve said too much already. What can one fan’s overzealous words say that Drew’s music can’t say for itself?! Oh and Drew….I have to say man…you’re vocal reach and falsetto is INSANE! I’m a true soprano and some of those notes you hit are creeping up in MY register! He-seriously all-check out Acts 1 and 2. It’s “B-E-A-Plentiful!”

Drew’s music is SUCH a relief from some of the noise some people pass for music. With “The Resolution” I can actually listen to a storyline within the lyrics (something music lately has forgotten how to do) He’s an amazing singer/songwriter who is in constant rotation on my i pod. Act 1 was a good, but Act 2 kinda kicks it up a bit more. This one, I have a little more trouble choosing an absolute favorite track. “Beautiful” and “Lazy Daze” are the kinds of songs you can play on a day where you have nothing to do but relax. “Let It Go” is on my workout play list Especially the remix that Brandon Stravinsky did for this song. I can honestly say I can’t wait till the next EP comes out. I haven’t this excited since *Syncope’s “No Strings Attached” album way back when. lot Awesome job Drew!
